Pearson VUE centres worldwide — where to sit the UCAT outside the UK
Book a Free ConsultationThe UCAT is available at Pearson VUE test centres worldwide, but centre availability and seat capacity vary significantly by country. This guide explains how to find your nearest centre, what to do if no centre is close, and what the registration process looks like for international candidates.
The UCAT is delivered by Pearson VUE at Professional Test Centres. To find your nearest centre, go to ucat.ac.uk and follow the registration process — you will be directed to the Pearson VUE booking system, which shows available centres and dates by country. Centres are available in most major cities across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas.
Middle East: UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi), Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon. South Asia: India (multiple cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad), Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh. East and Southeast Asia: Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, South Korea, Japan, China (major cities). Africa: South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana. Americas: USA, Canada, and many Latin American capitals.
Taking the UCAT at an international Pearson VUE centre is functionally identical to taking it at a UK centre — the test software, question formats, and timing are the same globally. However, there are practical differences for international test-takers that are worth knowing in advance:
On the UCAT itself: the four subtests are presented consecutively with no breaks between them. The full test including the UCAT Situational Judgement section takes approximately 2 hours. Practise completing multiple subtests in a single session without breaks — the mental fatigue in the later sections (including SJT) is significant and needs to be practised, not just anticipated.

If no Pearson VUE centre is available in your country, the UCAT Consortium may be able to arrange alternative testing. Contact the UCAT Consortium directly at ucat.ac.uk well in advance of the registration deadline. Some students in remote locations travel to the nearest country with a centre — plan this logistics in advance, as October test slots fill quickly.
UCAT registration typically opens in late May each year. Register as early as possible — popular centres in major cities fill within days of opening. Select a test date in July or August, giving yourself the maximum time for application preparation before the 15 October UCAS deadline. See our full UCAT international guide for complete preparation advice.
For students based in Vietnam, see our dedicated UCAT guide for Vietnamese students, covering test centre locations and UK medicine application steps.
One of the most-asked questions from international candidates is simply how much the test costs and when the key dates fall — and for 2026 entry, the answer is straightforward but often overlooked. UCAT candidates testing in the UK pay £70. Candidates testing at any Pearson VUE centre outside the UK — including every country test centre listed above — pay £115, a 64% premium over the UK fee. This applies uniformly across international centres; there is no separate lower tier for particular regions or countries.
| Milestone | 2026 Cycle Date |
|---|---|
| Registration, bursary and access-arrangement applications open | 20 May 2026 |
| Test-slot booking opens | 23 June 2026 |
| Testing window | 13 July – 24 September 2026 |
| Booking deadline | 16 September 2026 |
| UCAS application deadline | 15 October 2026 |
| Results released to universities | Early November 2026 |
The UK bursary scheme that waives the £70 fee for eligible UK candidates (those receiving free school meals, 16-19 bursary support, Universal Credit, tax credits, or asylum support) does not extend to the international fee — there is currently no equivalent hardship waiver for candidates testing overseas. Given international centres in high-demand cities can fill within days of the 23 June booking opening, international candidates should treat the gap between 20 May (registration opens) and 23 June (booking opens) as active preparation time, not a waiting period — have your passport details, preferred cities and backup dates ready before booking opens. For structured preparation covering all four subtests and the Situational Judgement Test, see our UCAT preparation programme or our dedicated UCAT tutoring service.
International candidates with a disability, learning difficulty or medical condition can apply for UCAT access arrangements on the same basis as UK candidates. Available accommodations include extended time (typically 25%, though more can be approved with supporting evidence), additional pause-the-clock breaks of 20–30 minutes depending on the extra time granted, a separate testing room where the centre can accommodate it, and permission to keep food or water at the workstation for medical reasons. General accessibility features — screen magnification, colour contrast settings, ear defenders and coloured overlays — do not require prior approval and can be requested directly with the test centre.
The application deadline for access arrangements in the 2026 cycle is 10 September 2026 at 15:00 BST, and applications must also be submitted at least 10 working days before your chosen test date — so international candidates testing early in the window (from 13 July) need to apply for accommodations well before the general deadline, not at the last minute. Evidence typically takes the form of a signed, dated letter on headed paper from a school, college or university confirming the disability and any exam accommodations already in place; different evidence rules apply for university students, candidates outside formal education, or those with a recent diagnosis. Because accommodation availability (such as a separate room, or Pearson's OnVUE remote-proctored option) can depend on the specific overseas centre, international candidates should confirm what is available at their chosen centre directly with the UCAT Consortium or Pearson VUE well before booking.
Yes. The UCAT is available at Pearson VUE test centres in over 130 countries. Most major cities in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas have accessible test centres. Register through the UCAT Consortium website (ucat.ac.uk), which directs you to the Pearson VUE booking system to find available dates and locations in your country.
UCAT registration typically opens in late May. International students should register as early as possible — popular test centres in major cities fill within days of the booking window opening. Select a test date in July or August to give yourself maximum time before the 15 October UCAS deadline. A July test date allows time to assess your score and finalise your university shortlist before applications are due.
If there is no Pearson VUE centre in your country, contact the UCAT Consortium directly through ucat.ac.uk well in advance of the registration deadline. Some students travel to a neighbouring country with a test centre — plan this logistics early as October slots fill quickly. The UCAT Consortium occasionally makes alternative arrangements for candidates in countries without centres.
International candidates — anyone testing at a Pearson VUE centre outside the UK — pay £115 for the 2026 cycle, compared with £70 for candidates testing in the UK. This is a flat international rate; it does not vary by country or continent. The UK bursary scheme that waives the fee for eligible UK candidates does not currently extend to the international fee.
Registration opens 20 May 2026, test-slot booking opens 23 June 2026, the testing window runs 13 July to 24 September 2026, the booking deadline is 16 September 2026, and the UCAS application deadline is 15 October 2026, with results released to universities in early November 2026. International candidates should book as soon as the window opens, since popular overseas centres can fill within days.

Yes. You can reschedule or cancel your booking up to 24 hours before your appointment through your UCAT account without losing your test fee, and cancellations within that window are refunded in full (typically within 10 working days). Missing your appointment without rescheduling or cancelling in time forfeits both the fee and any refund. The UCAT Consortium does not publish a separate policy for international centres, so international candidates should follow the same 24-hour rule, or call Pearson Customer Services (+44 (0)208 616 5106) to confirm location-specific availability before relying on a late change.
